Text Marketing | Yeptext Promo
Mobile text marketing is still an under the radar marketing strategy. But, with the growing demand of web enabled smart phones, mobile text marketing is trending up and should continue for several years.
Mobile text marketing offers the business owner a way to have on demand promotions. This is truly unique when it comes to marketing. Just imagine how much business you could have gotten if you were promoting via e-mail when e-mail marketing was brand new. That is the stage mobile text marketing is at right now.
Mobile text marketing offers several advantages to conventional offline marketing and a better response than e-mail marketing. Currently the open rates are at 90%. This may be due to the newer i phone style phone showing the text message to the subscriber the minute the message is received.
The other advantage is mobile text messaging is more personal. People are starting to text more and usually with people they know real well. This causes the user to respond quickly to the sound of a new text message. It is also perceived to be just for them. Just ask yourself what you would do right now if the message received indicator alerted you to a new message. Would you go right away to see what the message was? Or, how many business do you have sending you coupons by text message?
This is proof that text marketing is a largely untapped marketing strategy. The fact is most business owners do not even think about marketing.
When I was discussing this with my wife, she asked “so your saying people are now going to start sending promotions to my phone”?. Obviously, people hate spam and don’t like a bunch of junk being sent to them. But, text marketing doesn’t work that way. People optin to receive the offers and can stop it at anytime.
They way it works is the business owner gives the customer a discount or special offer if they texting something to a short code. An example would be something like:
For a discount coupon text “specialoffer” to the number 41242
The 41242 is the short code where the text is sent.
The specialoffer is the business owners text messaging list.
When the customer sends the text to the short code, their number is recorded. A follow up message is then sent to their phone giving them the discount plus confirming their opt in. The FTC guide lines require the message to include an opt out option. So, customers are in full control of what they will allow to be sent to their phone.
What I like the most about mobile text marketing is the on demand factor. When the business owner has developed a mobile subscriber list from his customers, if business has slowed down or is having and off day, he can simply send out a text offering a discount and the customer will appreciate the chance to save money. The business owner doesn’t even need to print materials or pay for offline materials.
This is especially effective in daily entertainment business or restaurants. If a restaurant owner sees he is having a slow night, he simply send out a text offering a free appetizer or discount for that night only. The customer that loves his restaurant, then decides to take him up on the offer. Again, no printed materials required, no mailing out coupons, no waiting for an ad campaign to hit the radio or for a TV commercial to air. The customer gets the message and the business owner wins by rewarding loyal customers without all the extra expense associated with typical marketing methods.
Currently, mobile text marketing services are designed for large corporations. They can afford to register their own CSC or common short code. It can cost $500 to a $1000 per month to lease your own short code. This is not feasible for the small business owner.
There are options to owning your CSC number. There are services that offer web based software for managing a text messaging campaign and list. One of the cheapest services I have found is http://www.yeptext.com . The service has all the features that are needed to run a text marketing campaign.
They also offer a trial and discount for the first month. You can get 30% off if you use the following yep text promo code:

The bottom line is don’t miss this opportunity to capitalize on an untapped marketing strategy that can offer and excellent ROI.
