<p>The technical requirements associated with setting up a website, understanding social media, creating campaigns that will promote brand and convert traffic into buyers, are all part of the requirements necessary to market a business in today&#8217;s world. <p>Now, a month later you decide you want to have a sale or run a special on the weekend. Here is an example of the on demand marketing factor. Let&#8217;s say you own a restaurant. You expect the coming weekend lunch crowd to be slow due to an event in the area during that time of day. So, you have a message sent out to your mobile list letting them know they can get a free appetizer at lunch &#8211; but for this weekend only. You do this two hours before lunch to a hundred people on your list. Then an hour later you decide that the response wasn&#8217;t enough to fill the seats up completely and you believe you will have a few open seats. So, you quickly have another message sent to another hundred people.</p>
<p>The result:</p>
<p>An hour later you have a small line at the door. You managed to let your customers know about your special for the weekend only. You also filled the seats and maximized your business without over promoting. You wouldn&#8217;t want customers that would have come to your restaurant without a promo code to be turned away due to an extra-long wait.</p>
<p>On demand marketing lends itself to maximum flexibility in timing and number variations. There is no other marketing strategy that has this type of on demand capability. <p>Mobile text marketing offers the business owner a way to have on demand promotions. This is truly unique when it comes to marketing. Just imagine how much business you could have gotten if you were promoting via e-mail when e-mail marketing was brand new. That is the stage mobile text marketing is at right now.</p>
<p>Mobile text marketing offers several advantages to conventional offline marketing and a better response than e-mail marketing. Currently the open rates are at 90%. This may be due to the newer i phone style phone showing the text message to the subscriber the minute the message is received.</p>

<p>The 41242 is the short code where the text is sent.</p>
<p>The specialoffer is the business owners text messaging list.</p>
<p>When the customer sends the text to the short code, their number is recorded. A follow up message is then sent to their phone giving them the discount plus confirming their opt in. The FTC guide lines require the message to include an opt out option. So, customers are in full control of what they will allow to be sent to their phone.</p>
<p>What I like the most about mobile text marketing is the on demand factor. When the business owner has developed a mobile subscriber list from his customers, if business has slowed down or is having and off day, he can simply send out a text offering a discount and the customer will appreciate the chance to save money. The business owner doesn&#8217;t even need to print materials or pay for offline materials.</p>
<p>This is especially effective in daily entertainment business or restaurants. If a restaurant owner sees he is having a slow night, he simply send out a text offering a free appetizer or discount for that night only. The customer that loves his restaurant, then decides to take him up on the offer. Again, no printed materials required, no mailing out coupons, no waiting for an ad campaign to hit the radio or for a TV commercial to air.  The customer gets the message and the business owner wins by rewarding loyal customers without all the extra expense associated with typical marketing methods.</p>
